Operational priorities require that the allocation of seasonal staffing levels in all of my Department's national parks, including Glenveagh, will vary from year to year. As part of an ongoing management strategy to enhance the effective and efficient operation and delivery of a year-round quality service at Glenveagh National Park, seasonal posts have been consolidated into new permanent whole-time positions in full consultation and agreement with the relevant trade union.
Peak season staffing requirements for the park are now being reviewed by management in the light of these changes. In these circumstances, it is not yet possible to indicate the effect of the new arrangements on peak season job levels in 2004.
