Sitting Arrangements: Motion

I move:

That, notwithstanding anything in the Standing Orders relative to Public Business, the following arrangements shall apply in relation to the sittings of the Seanad on 16th and 17th July, 2024: (1) The Seanad on its rising on Monday, 15th July, 2024 shall adjourn until 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday, 16th July, 2024, and the following arrangements shall apply:
(a) Standing Orders 29 and 30 shall stand suspended;

(b) There shall be no Order of Business;

(c) The business to be taken shall be confined to the item set out in the Schedule to this paragraph and, accordingly, no other business shall be taken unless the Seanad shall otherwise order on motion made by the Leader of the House or such other Senator as she may authorise in that behalf.

Planning and Development Bill 2023 [Dáil] – Committee Stage (resumed).

The resumed proceedings on the Committee Stage of the Planning and Development Bill 2023 [Dáil] shall be taken at 9.30 a.m., and shall, if not previously concluded, be adjourned at 9.30 p.m. The sitting shall be suspended from 1 p.m. to 2.p.m., and from 6 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., on that day.
(2) The Seanad on its rising on Tuesday, 16th July, 2024, shall adjourn until 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday, 17th July, 2024, and the following arrangements shall apply:
(a) Standing Orders 29 and 30 shall stand suspended;

(b) There shall be no Order of Business;

(c) The business to be taken shall be confined to the items set out in the Schedule to this paragraph and, accordingly, no other business shall be taken unless the Seanad shall otherwise order on motion made by the Leader of the House or such other Senator as she may authorise in that behalf.

Planning and Development Bill 2023 [Dáil] – Committee Stage (resumed).

The resumed proceedings on the Committee Stage of the Planning and Development Bill 2023 [Dáil] shall be taken at 9.30 a.m., and shall, if not previously concluded, be brought to a conclusion at 1 p.m. by one Question, which shall be put from the Chair, and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only those set down or accepted by the Government.

Suspension of Sitting.

On the conclusion of the proceedings on the Planning and Development Bill 2023 [Dáil], the sitting shall be suspended until 2.30 p.m.

Courts, Civil Law, Criminal Law and Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2024 [Seanad Bill amended by the Dáil Report and Final Stages.

The proceedings on the Report and Final Stages of the Courts, Civil Law, Criminal Law and Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2024 [Seanad Bill amended by the Dáil] shall be taken at 2.30 p.m. and shall,

if not previously concluded, be brought to a conclusion at 3.30 p.m. by one Question, which shall be put from the Chair, and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only those set down or accepted by the Government.

Motion regarding Better Planning for Local Childcare.

The proceedings on the Motion regarding Better Planning for Local Childcare shall be taken at 3.30 p.m.,

and shall, if not previously concluded, be brought to a conclusion after two hours.

(3) The Seanad on its rising on Wednesday, 17th July, 2024, shall adjourn sine die.
