I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:
Senator John Cummins - the need for the Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications to make a statement on delays in allocating funding to community groups under the community energy grant scheme.
Senator Sharon Keogan - the need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on whether climate or weather modification operations have taken place in Irish airspace.
Senator Maria Byrne - the need for the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to make a statement on the future funding of Lero, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software, and the Solid State Pharmaceutical Centre, SSPC, research centre at the University of Limerick.
Senator Barry Ward - an gá atá ann go ndéanfaidh an tAire Tuarasóireachta, Cultúir, Ealaíon, Gaeltachta, Spóirt agus Meán ráiteas maidir le gach comhlacht Stáit d’úsáid an tsínte fhada go seasta, agus go gcuirfear an nós sin i ngníomh i ngach réimse.
Senator Mary Seery Kearney - the need for the Minister for Justice to make a statement on the request from the Multi-Unit Developments Act Reform Group to appoint an interim owners' management company regulator to address concerns about the interim remediation scheme.
The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and I have selected Senators John Cummins, Sharon Keogan, Maria Byrne and Barry Ward and they will be taken now. Senator Mary Seery Kearney may give notice on another day of the matter that she wishes to raise.
I commend Senator Ward on tabling a matter trí Ghaeilge. As Members will be aware, the Irish language group has encouraged Members to use the facility to introduce Commencement matters trí Ghaeilge. Senator Ward is the first to do so. Déanaim comhghairdeas leis an Seanadóir.
