As Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann, I extend a céad míle fáilte, a sincere welcome, to Governor John Carney of Delaware and his delegation who are here today with the Leas-Chathaoirleach in the Public Gallery. Governor, you are very welcome. You have been a great friend of Ireland and we thank you for being here today.

I also want to welcome in the Public Gallery, our Consul General in New York, Helena Nolan. She is an extraordinary servant of our country and has done a great job in New York.
