I am strongly of the view that the matters selected by the Cathaoirleach of the day, whoever that might be, should proceed unless there are exceptional circumstances justifying withdrawal. The Department of Health did not communicate with me or with my office about the withdrawal. I take the view, and will continue to take the view, that it is a matter for the Department relevant to the Commencement matter selected to have a Minister or Minister of State on front bench duty here to take the matter.
