This could be achieved by clarifying that it is sufficient for a medical practitioner or a person of medical standing related to the individual for whom the care is required to state, without disclosing any private information in respect of the individual, that a level of care consistent with the Bill is required. Can that be construed? A medical certificate has a specific meaning in all of our heads. We expect it to have a particular content of information. Since the introduction of the GDPR, employers are not requiring that any more. They just need to certify that somebody is absent without stating the reason for it, as long as it is on a headed paper and stamped by a GP or private doctor. Perhaps clarity in that regard, in that we do not need to disclose the information regarding the third party, but verifying that it hits the standard within this Act, is a reasonable request. Perhaps that could be clarified on the record.
