I thank the Minister of State but he did not provide clarity in respect of concerns relating to disinformation and bots today being as relevant today as they are during an electoral campaign period. I ask him to comment on that. Amendment No. 27 refers to protecting the integrity of elections and referendums against disinformation. What about protecting political parties, the political process and candidates, be they Members of this House, the Dáil or the European Parliament or councillors on local authorities? That issue is equally important now and in the two years preceding an election as it is during the election campaign.

To clarify in respect of amendment No. 1, the Minister of State is basically saying that, unless otherwise prescribed by the commission, the campaign period is three months.
