Dia dhaoibh, a chairde. I have received notice from Senator Tim Lombard that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Rural and Community Development to make a statement on the provision of funding for agricultural shows.

I have also received notice from Senators Aisling Dolan and Jerry Buttimer of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Rural and Community Development to make a statement on after-hours access to school buildings for local community groups and youth organisations through the CLÁR programme.

I have also received notice from Senator Victor Boyhan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works to make a statement on plans to undertake restoration works on the conservatories at the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin, Dublin.

I have also received notice from Senator Erin McGreehan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for disability to make a statement on adult respite services at Sruthán House in Dundalk, County Louth.

I have also received notice from Senator Garret Ahearn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide an update on an emergency works scheme application for Donaskeigh National School, County Tipperary.

I have also received notice from Senator Maria Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to make a statement on the barriers facing non-fluent English speakers in reporting sexual and gender-based violence.

I have also received notice from Senator Malcolm Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to make a statement on Ireland’s potential membership of the European Council for Nuclear Research.

I have also received notice from Senator Sharon Keogan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Defence to make a statement on the disposal of land held by the Defence Forces in the Stamullen and Gormanston areas of County Meath.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Lombard; Dolan and Buttimer, who will be sharing their time; Boyhan; and McGreehan and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
