The survivors of mother and baby homes have been repeatedly treated with contempt by this State and the Minister is asking us to trust that he will fix this at some future date so that there will be access to the documents. Why would survivors should trust the State? They have been let down at every single point. In December 2018, the Collaborative Forum on Mother and Baby Homes requested that health and well-being resources be put in place. In April 2019, the former Minister, Katherine Zappone, committed to giving them. In December 2019, the former Minister for Health, Deputy Harris, said that they would be rolled out in January 2020.
