Like others, I send my condolences to everybody in the Labour Party and its movement following the tragic loss of Mr. Cormac Ó Braonáin. I did not know Cormac personally but I spent much of Sunday night reading about his life, his musicianship, his involvement with Scouting Ireland and his political leadership. His loss is clearly devastating for his family and friends but it is also a loss for the left in Ireland. I have had the privilege of serving as the national chair of Sinn Féin Youth, Ógra Shinn Féin, and it has shared its condolences. The thoughts and prayers of everyone in Sinn Féin are with his family, friends and comrades. Above all else, from what I read on Sunday evening it seems he was a gorgeous human being.
