I move:

That, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders, it be an instruction to the Committee of the whole Seanad, in relation to the Courts (Establishment and Constitution) (Amendment) Bill 2019, that the Committee has power to make amendments to the Bill for the purpose of amending – (a) the Court and Court Officers Act 1995 in relation to the adjudication of legal costs,

(b) the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015 in relation to the adjudication of legal costs and the functions of the President of the Court of Appeal, and

(c) the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) Act 1961 in relation to the retirement age of judges of the District Court, and to make other consequential amendments required to take account of such amendments.”
