The Minister for Finance carried out a review of the betting industry and revenues from it. The thrust of his report’s recommendations was a proposed tax on winnings from bets. There was a call for a further tax on and regulation of online betting. With the problem we have with gambling, I feel these would have been prudent moves and more effective than the proposed 2% levy. Will the Leader consider a debate on this?
