I cautiously welcome the outcome of the Chequers negotiations last weekend. I think British politicians are eventually coming to their senses.It is time for reflection now because a bad deal for the United Kingdom is a bad deal for Ireland and for the European Union. I hope there will be a change of mind regarding Brexit. I hope also that Brexit will not happen and that this is good news.

I agree with Senator Conway and Senator Norris on the presidential election. The previous presidential election was a race to the bottom.
