We had a principled disagreement and Seán Doherty did nothing about it. Other parties saw there was an opportunity to do me in but I won. However, I refused to give evidence for The Sunday Timesbecause I would not give evidence for a newspaper owned by Rupert Murdoch against an Irish citizen. It did not end my friendship with Seán Doherty. He was remarkably witty, and certainly a rogue.
