I have received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to provide clarity on the need for the taxpayer-funded Irish Greyhound Board to interact positively, proactively and transparently with the representative organisation of greyhound owners and breeders, the Irish Greyhound Owners and Breeders Federation.

I have also received notice from Senator Keith Swanick of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources to commit to a co-ordinated approach across all State agencies and local authorities to highlight and raise awareness of the dangers of radon and carbon monoxide gases, the need for stricter enforcement on the servicing of boilers to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning and the testing of homes for high levels of radon gas.

I have also received notice from Senator Neale Richmond of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to set out the efforts he has made to have Ireland removed from the Brazilian Government's tax haven blacklist.

I have also received notice from Senator Martin Conway of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government to outline the funding his Department has given to Rural Resettlement Ireland in the past five years and his plans to support this organisation into the future.

I have also received notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to confirm that the recommendations set out in the report of the investigation into the safety, quality and standards of services provided by the Health Service Executive to patients at Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, have been implemented and, in particular, in respect of the appointment of a director of midwifery in each of the 19 maternity hospitals throughout the country.

I have also received notice from Senator Robbie Gallagher of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to provide an update on the proposed funding for the essential and urgent structural repairs required for the Tyrconnell Bridge at Tyrconnell Street in Donegal town.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion. I have selected Senators Ó Domhnaill, Conway, Richmond and Swanick and they will be taken now. Senators Burke and Gallagher may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise. I have just been notified that Senator Martin Conway has withdrawn his Commencement matter, which was No. 4 to be taken.
