Like previous speakers, I congratulate Senator Mark Daly on bringing forward this Bill. I received many letters and e-mails also. This Bill is a great achievement and I am delighted to support it. This is all about equal rights for the members of the deaf community. In particular, I want to mention their families. These families have been there through thick and thin and fought for everything. They fought for the simple things in life. They should be commended and thanked for everything they do. Today is all about the 5,000 people in the deaf community. It is about ensuring they have equal access and equal rights. We need to ensure everyone has the chance of a proper life in society. I am, therefore, delighted to support this Bill and congratulate Senator Daly.
