Recognition of Irish Sign Language for the Deaf Community Bill 2016: Second Stage
10:30 am
Mark Daly (Fianna Fail) | Oireachtas source
Interpreters were provided for the Dáil Chamber when 200 members of the deaf community came in. I like to give praise when it is due. Senator Conway will be happy to hear that the former Minister for Social Protection, Deputy Joan Burton, came out of the Chamber and assured them that their advocacy funding would be reinstated, as it should be. Nobody needs advocates more than those who cannot communicate with Parliament.
