I welcome the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Deputy Flanagan, to the House. I welcome the comprehensive and well-thought out statement he has made. This follows a meeting of the Joint Committee on European Affairs yesterday with the Minister of State, Deputy Dara Murphy, in which he outlined other information regarding the future. The Minister makes a very strong case for not appointing a dedicated Minister. He is very persuasive. He has made a good case to be the lead Minister himself in this particular regard.
