Senator Quinn raised the issue of tourism and the need to increase the length of holiday visas, as other European countries in the Schengen area have done, and I certainly will bring that to the attention of the Minister. However, the tourism figures that have been released for past year far surpassed anybody's projections. A point was raised by Senator Paul Coghlan on the Order of Business, who used the phrase, "price gouging". Certainly I can testify, as can other Members present, that over the past two to three years, hotel prices have increased by up to 40% in Dublin.
