Senator Bacik said that the minimum age for marriage would now be 18 following a Cabinet decision today, which she welcomed. She also complimented all of the volunteers working on the flooding.

Senators Zappone, Quinn, Keane, Daly and Mullins referred to Ibrahim Halawa. The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade gave a comprehensive update last week on his case. The Government is doing everything possible to secure his release. As Senator Mullins mentioned, it is regrettable that Senator Daly, as he did last week, is trying to make a political football of this issue.
