I welcome what the Minister of State has just said and I equally welcome the statement he made on 23 July 2014, when he said that direct provision needs radical reform. I also agree with the statement he made in the Dáil when he described the system as inhumane and intolerable and said it was a system he refused to stand over in its current form. It certainly needs to be changed, reformed or scrapped - whatever term one wants to use but-----
