Marriage Bill 2015: Committee and Remaining Stages
10:30 am
Caít Keane (Fine Gael) | Oireachtas source
Senator Mullen brought this into it. I will finish with what Pope Francis said, which is: “If a homosexual person is of good will and is in search of God, I am no one to judge". I am judging this legislation the way it is written and I do not see in it what Senator Mullen sees. As for saying the Bill lays down a diktat on how solemnisers should lay out their ceremony, it does not do that. The freedom is there for each one of them to compose their own ceremony. The Bill does not do that at all, so I am obviously reading a different Bill to Senator Mullen.
