With regard to No. 1, I completely disagree with the Leader that it should be taken without debate. This is a debating Chamber. The people in Aer Lingus have been swindled out of their pensions. It is devastating that people have their pensions cut in half at a time of economic difficulty. If one compares this with what happened in Waterford Glass where the Government found the money to pay off the pensions, it is outrageous that this House should pass a measure allowing the Government to transfer almost €350 million without paying the pensioners from the company that is being dissolved.
