Senator Norris is always in my thoughts. Senator Norris referred to two and a half years, which would be horrendous. The people have spoken and whether one agrees or disagrees, the people's views should not be thwarted by a delay. As they say, justice delayed is justice denied. I hope there will be some sort of fast-track mechanism to ensure this comes to a head. One of the key points that was made in the context of the Bill was on divorce and people having to be single, which was not acceptable.
Overall, I am very proud, without any hint of ego, to be here on this day. It makes it all the more worthwhile to be a legislator when one sees in action a law that is going to help people and improve their lives. For that, I applaud everybody.
