I thank Senator Colm Burke for raising the pancreas transplant issue directly with the Minister for Health in a Commencement debate matter. Having read the Minister's reply to the Senator, I welcome the fact that a special clinic will be held on 24 July to deal with the eight patients who are currently waiting for transplants. This is very welcome but I believe that if we had not raised this matter time and again, this would not be happening. I welcome the announcement following the cross-party effort on the issue.
