I thank the Senator for supporting me. They are anarchists. It is an attack on democracy and it should not be tolerated. There may have been people out there who had legitimate protest on their mind but it was certainly overtaken by these thugs. I reject the assertion that there is any degree of sensationalism about the coverage. People here know exactly what happened and it can be viewed on social media. However, they will probably not put up on social media the attacks they made on the gardaí and on Members. I hope that issue will be addressed. Any right-thinking person does not want this type of thuggery. Some 95% of the people do not want this type of activity, be it outside the Parliament, any house or any building where thuggish elements attack the Garda who do so much for us in protecting democracy.
