As has rightly been stated, history is no longer a core subject but it is a very important part of the junior certificate curriculum. Senator Craughwell raised the issues of English language schools and housing. I note the points made by him. Senator Michael Mullins also raised the issue of English language schools. He also called for the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade to address the House on the refugee crisis. I have asked the Minister to do so and hope he will be in the House soon to discuss it with us.

Senator Fidelma Healy Eames raised the issue of mortgage arrears. The Government will make a statement on the matter in a number of weeks and I hope the Minister for Finance will come to the House to address it. With regard to the boss of IDA Ireland, to the best of my knowledge, he was not instructed by any Minister to make any statement on the referendum. It is a matter for the gentleman in question to speak on whatever issue he wishes.
