I congratulate the Minister. I have no doubt he will go down in history in this State for bringing forward this legislation. It is true to say that "Smoking kills", although these are two very strong words. I am so proud of the Minister's actions in this legislation. As Senator Norris indicated, the Minister has had support across all parties in both Houses on the issue. The only negative that might be aired relating to the legislation is from some retailers.However, deep down they know that what the Minister is doing is right.

The Government must deal with the illegal selling of tobacco and take that issue very seriously. My worry is that the sale of illegal cigarettes might increase. The Government must take serious action on that.

However, well done to the Minister for having the courage to do this. We know what the tobacco industry is like and what it is capable of, so we are all very proud of him.
