Adoption (Identity and Information) Bill 2014: Committee and Remaining Stages
10:30 am
Jillian van Turnhout (Independent) | Oireachtas source
I move amendment No. 2:
These amendments are purely designed to make some grammatical changes and to take account of the fact that a person may have been subject to similar legislation prior to the enactment of the 1991 and 2001 Acts. We are tabling these amendments in response to the remarks of the Minister on Second Stage, what we have heard from groups and individuals involved and in the absence of hearings of the Joint Committee on Health and Children. We took the view that we needed to progress this Bill because certain people are waiting for it. That is why we are putting forward these amendments. They are technical in nature.
In page 7, to delete lines 3 and 4 and substitute the following:“(a) where the child is, was or has been placed (including placement in foster care) with a person or body under the Child Care Act 1991 or equivalent legislation,”.
