In that context, I think that what Deputy Gerry Adams said in New York is totally unacceptable. I say this as a working journalist, as well as for those from across the journalistic field. Every international journalists' organisation has criticised Deputy Adams's comments. They have done it because they said he seems to be unaware that journalists, men and women, have been killed across the world in areas of conflict doing work which we then find out about. Without them we would not know what is going on in conflicts in various parts of the world.
