I thank the Minister of State for coming before this House and for the manner in which the debate was handled. I ask that she reflect on the points made by Senator Crown and others regarding amendments that I understand she could not accept. We all want optimum regulation to ensure quality of care but the Minister of State should consider prioritising counselling, psychiatry, psychology and suicide prevention. One can call oneself a professional therapist after a weekend course in areas relating to diet, weight and other matters and this does not serve us well. The Minister of State might consider this as her next legislative move in this area.
