I agree with the points made by Senator van Turnhout, who made her case far more eloquently than I could have done. Any government should be judged on how it treats young people and older people in our society. It is generally agreed in this and the other House that the Minister of State, Deputy Harris, is very approachable, accessible and helpful, but he is also the youngest Member of the Dáil. The question of nursing home provision is much further down the line for him as a personal consideration than it is for me or my colleague, Senator Paul Coghlan.
