I move amendment No. 3:

In page 3, between lines 23 and 24, to insert the following:“(c) in the definition “community hall” by deleting “other than a premises of a club” and substituting “other than the licensed premises, of a club”.
This is the amendment that the Minister of State says he will deal with later. Essentially it is the same as our Bill which the Government accepted in the Dáil, so will my amendment be accepted, given that it would do the job? The Government amendment seems quite lengthy and complicated. Amendment No. 3 would just exempt the part of a club that is not licensed. The Government amendment does not go as far as what is proposed in this amendment because the Government amendment includes places such as parts of the club that would be rented out to other sport clubs. Amendment No. 3 is very simple. It demarcates the licensed area of a club, which will be available on a map for the pub licence for the purposes of the club, and exempts everything else. Is it correct to state the Minister of State is not going as far as that?
