I have a mini vested interest in this particular regard. There is so much red tape at the moment. Ireland is renowned for dancing - dancing at the crossroads, the comely maidens and athletic young men. Senator Norris probably gave the details of Éamon De Valera's famous speech. The reality is that one cannot dance at the crossroads unless one has a licence. One has to apply for a licence to the courts in order to hold a dance. Give me a break in this day and age. If one is in contravention one will be fined £5 and one's licence might be revoked. The Army and the Garda Síochána - the Minister, Deputy Shatter's people - are exempt from having a licence. The Minister can dance all night when he wants.
