I have received notice from Senator David Cullinane that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation to outline the plans in place to create a level playing pitch for the south east in relation to regional grant aid with the BMW region and the concrete steps taken by his Department in 2014 to help to create and sustain jobs in Waterford city and county.

I have also received notice from Senator Thomas Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government to ensure the structure of water charges to be implemented by Irish Water takes account of the extra costs incurred by those consumers with a hard water supply.

I have also received notice from Senator Jim D'Arcy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in view of the drop in price for beef from the factories in the past few weeks and its implications for Food Harvest 2020 in relation to farmer confidence and stocking levels, to consider bringing all stakeholders together at an emergency beef summit to discuss the situation and find a way to move forward.

I have also received notice from Senator Deirdre Clune of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources to address the concerns of the Irish Postmasters Union regarding the future viability of the post office network.

I have also received notice from Senator Fidelma Healy Eames of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to ensure Irish homeowners are given first right of refusal and a window of time to buy back their own mortgage from any bank selling its loan book and failing that, to ensure any new foreign bidder buying Irish mortgages has to conform to the Central Bank's code of conduct for mortgages.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators David Cullinane, Thomas Byrne, Jim D’Arcy and Deirdre Clune they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Fidelma Healy Eames may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
