I welcome the opportunity that this Private Members' business motion presents.

I very often agree with the views expressed by Senator Kelly, but I do agree with his views on Private Members' business. To suggest that a motion of this importance is being tabled by the Fianna Fáil Party to embarrass certain Members is clearly missing the point. The objective of the motion is to stand up for people who deserve the full support of the State, those who have mental health difficulties and deserve the services, which the State should provide, whether the services are provided in Ballinasloe, Letterkenny, Cork, Athlone, Falcarragh or anywhere else in the country.
