I welcome Ryanair's announcement in respect of its intention to put in place nine new routes in and out of Dublin in 2014. This development, which will lead to the creation of 300 new jobs and an additional 700,000 passengers flying into and out of the country, is a direct result of the scrapping of the travel tax. Michael O'Leary confirmed the latter when making the announcement. I compliment him on putting his money where is mouth is and on acting so decisively in order to improve matters so greatly for the Dublin region involved. An influx of an additional 700,000 passengers into the region will lead to major benefits in the context of tourism. This is a matter worth highlighting.
