Irish Sign Language: Motion
1:25 pm
Terry Leyden (Fianna Fail) | Oireachtas source
I have been in the Seanad for more than 11 years and this is the first time I have experienced this work in the House. I thank the audience for coming here and for their attention to the genuine contributions of Members. I thank the Minister of State and her staff. It has been an excellent exercise in democracy. I hope some day colleagues of the members of the audience will be sitting in this House and that it will be required to have sign language used in the Chamber. That would be a marvellous breakthrough and I hope it happens. It has happened in other areas and it would be a wonderful event.
