I am sure that the Minister would not like to see history abolished.

I with to take the opportunity, in the week that is in it, to commend the Minister on securing a €50 million stimulus package in recent months. It is great to see the roots of the stimulus package being rolled out into constituencies across the country. Yesterday a school extension in my constituency was announced. The schools has waited almost 20 years for the funding. It is good to see positive things happening.

I wish to quote the Minister, Deputy Varadkar, from Pat Leahy's most recent book who said that when politicians are worn out from saying something it is then that you can realise that the public are actually listening.

I wish to say once more to my colleague, Senator Daly, that the subject of history is not compulsory at present.
