I move:

That Seanad Éireann-----notes the proposals developed by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment in "Towards a Framework for Junior Cycle - Innovation and Identity", and "A Framework for Junior Cycle" subsequently published by the Department of Education and Skills, and
calls on the Minister for Education and Skills to give his assurance that history will be reinstated as a core subject for the Junior Certificate.

I will not call for a quorum on this very important subject, although I have that right. What do we need to know? That is the real question.

Does it matter that we do not have a quorum?
