I have closely examined the legislation and there is a real danger that the Government may have inadvertently given the banks too much authority. Ironically, the remarks made by the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport may have done us all a favour. He shone a light on the over dictatorial and over authoritarian approach to families adopted by the banks. Women and families are well able to do their maths.
