In regard to a conflict of interest between the religious communities which ran hospitals and laundries, I agree that there is a need for closer scrutiny of the accounts of these institutions. I hope this will be done at an early opportunity.

Senator Fidelma Healy Eames spoke about debt write-offs by the banks for Independent News and Media and asked what preconditions had been set for banks. I will raise her questions with the Minister for Finance and attempt to get answers for her.
