I have received notice from Senator James Heffernan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform to ensure the urgent enactment of the Construction Contracts Bill 2010 in view of problems which arose at Kilfinane national school, County Limerick.

I have also received notice from Senator Lorraine Higgins of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform when it is proposed to conclude all Stages of and enact the Construction Contracts Bill 2010 in order to deal with the devastation being caused to small subcontractors and tradespeople due to the non-payment or underpayment by developers and large contractors.

I have also received notice from Senator Martin Conway of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to give an update on how the fair deal scheme is performing and if he is aware that some nursing homes are charging supplementary amounts to families of residents in addition to the payments being received from the State.

I have also received notice from Senator Thomas Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government to consider providing a grandfather clause for Irish independent architects.

I have also received notice from Senator John Kelly of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Health if an occupational therapist will be immediately appointed to the child-adolescent mental health services in County Roscommon.

I have also received notice from Senator Denis Landy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to reconsider the closing down of the Reserve Defence Force base in Clonmel, County Tipperary, and to relocate it to the old Kickham Army barracks; and if he will outline the cost of transporting RDF staff to and from Cork several times a week.

I have also received notice from Senator David Cullinane of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform to outline the long-term plans the OPW has for the 80 acres and house at Mount Congreve Estate over which the OPW has a freehold.

I have also received notice from Senator Trevor Ó Clochartaigh of the following matter:

Go ndéanfaidh an tAire Cumarsáide ráiteas maidir le reachtaíocht, ionstraim reachtúla, nó meicníocht eile a thabhairt isteach a chuirfidh cosc ar sholáthróirí seirbhísí téacs SMS in Éirinn costas breise a bhaint de dhaoine as ucht úsáid a bhaint as an 'síneadh fada' agus siombail eile a bhaineann le haon cheann dár dteangacha náisiúnta, mar a dhéantar i dtíortha eile'.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Heffernan, Conway, Byrne and Kelly as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. As Senator Higgins's matter is similar to that raised by Senator Heffernan, they may wish to share time. I regret I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Ó Clochartaigh as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. Senators Landy and Cullinane may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
