How impossible that seemed, yet it happened as a result of the decisions taken by the Government in March 2011. We now have one arm of the pillar under State ownership but we own only 15% of the other bank. It happened as a result of the change from the policy followed by Senator Thomas Byrne's party to the policy followed by the parties now in government.
