That argument does not stand up. In fairness, the argument being made by the Acting Chairman does not make sense in view of what the Minister of State said last week. We are very unhappy with the ruling made by the Chair. This is not a democratic way of dealing with the issue. We should at least be given leave to debate the amendment in question.
