Government amendment No. 13: In page 5, before section 5, to insert the following new section:5.?Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended?(a) by inserting after subsection (2) the following:?(2A) Such appointment may be preceded by consideration by a committee of the Houses of the Oireachtas as may be designated by the Minister of a person proposed by the Government for such appointment.?, and (b) in paragraphs (a) and (b) of subsection (5), by substituting ?European Parliament? for ?European Assembly? in each place where it occurs.?.
