I welcome the announcement by the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Deputy Phil Hogan on the process by which septic tanks can now be registered. I seem to be having a bit of luck with the Minister because on the week before last, I raised an issue and my effort was successful. Last week, I raised the issue of the septic tanks and at the Joint Committee on Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht, of which I am a member, and the Minister responded to it. I might add that my colleague from south Tipperary, Deputy Mattie McGrath, who is not a committee member, also attended and contrived to be thrown out of the committee.
