I was pleased that the Leader accepted full responsibility the other day for the ordering of business in this House. It gives me no pleasure to have to criticise this on a regular basis. Yesterday, we had a two and a half hour sos and the House adjourned at 6 p.m. Today we are adjourning at 1.45 p.m. and the House will not sit next Tuesday because Monday is a bank holiday. This is appalling. It is not what the Seanad should be about. We are making the case for abolition of the Seanad. I urge the Leader to bring about change in the Seanad and can provide him with some suggestions in this regard. Perhaps people are going to play golf in Faithlegg or somewhere else. A previous Leader was criticised for engaging in such activities.
