40.—(1) Where the Authority has carried out a review under section 39, it may, following consultation with the National University of Ireland, issue such directions in writing to the National University of Ireland as it considers appropriate in relation to the effectiveness of the procedures established by the National University of Ireland under section 31(2) and the implementation by the National University of Ireland of those procedures.
