I thank the Minister of State for her detailed statement on the Bill. I commend Senator Norris on his eagle-eyed sharpness in noting that she omitted two paragraphs from her script. She pointed out the Bill does not give rise to cost or resource implications for St. James's Hospital. The legislation provides for the transfer of responsibility for the procurement of clotting factor concentrates to the hospital, which is sensible given that it is the primary service provider in this area. While the transfer will also offer cost savings, the most important outcome will be improved efficiency and safety. I support the Bill and urge the House to do likewise.
